The PC runs Windows 2000. It has a modem that can be accessed by dialing from an outsite computer. This connection is apparently correctly set, since I am using it regularly when connecting my laptop from home to same PC in the office.
I connect with my PC in this way from home since the PC is connected to my institute local network and this gives me the possibility to "see" all needed site, including e-mails and the internet. The local administrator could not figure out what is hapenning.
