If you're not getting an IP address, start troubleshooting there. 169.x.x.x addresses don't count. You'll need a 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x
If you've got an IP address, can you ping your access point or router? You can get TCP-IP tools

If you're able to ping your WAP or Router, can you ping 66.94.230.37? Yes? Can you ping
www.yahoo.com? No? Check DNS server settings.
