That assumes that the battery extender has a permanent cable fixed into it with the X30 connector on the other end.
They are not all like that - have a look at the boxwave one
HERE it has a female USB port on it - which you then buy the applicable sync cable to connect it to your device (which has a male USB connector and a connector for your device).
This also has the advantage that you can use the cable to connect to a normal USB port for charging and syncing.
