Thanks for the headsup about the hardware problem. I was not aware of that (and I thought I'd read ALL the posts on this forum.

However, unless there is something I'm missing, the normal operation of the Axim is for the reminders set in the Calendar to come up even if all programs are turned off. At least Wisbar (and the Switcher Bar, which I used before Wisbar) shows no programs running and I still get the alarms for various reminders. In most cases, that's good but if there is a way to turn this off without chnaging the setting on each individual task/appointment, I'd like to hear about it so I can do it before leaving on vacations
