Probably the most important decision is what do YOU WANT to do?

Look at your interests and hobbies. If you can find a position working with a firm that coincides with hobbies, you'll never work another day in your life...it'll be fun instead of work.

As an example, my father 'retired' early many years ago as a Store General Manager for a major Canadian retailer. After several years he decided to go back to work. I had gotten him interested in computers and he had created an extensive network of 'computer buddies'. One of them owned a computer store, so my father went to work for him.

He learned more about his hobby, got lots of free/cheap parts and software to help support his hobby, and had fun at it.

He finally retired at 65 a couple years ago.
