Some general troubleshooting ideas:

Have you tried reinstalling ActiveSync, rebooting PC, soft resetting, etc.? Do you have the latest version of ActiveSync (3.7.1)?

BTW, if you do end up reinstalling AS, make sure you delete current partnerships first (File > Delete Partnership ).

Which version of Outlook are you using?
If you don't want to lose Outlook data, do a backup first.
