Be Firm, call Dell, tell them you ordered their product, paid alot of money, etc. and started using it in the office and you have screen protectors and dust got under the screen and is causing problems.

I have heard of Jornada 568's getting dust under the screen, and HP replaces them, also in rare instances I have heard of Axim's getting dust, tell them you are very unsatisfied and upset and don't ask how did it happen or you don't know what happened, treat it as a product defect.

Tell them you need it for work, that you need them to send you a replacement one and you will send yours back when you recieve the new one, I think they do this as a service anyway, if not, push for it.

Good Luck.
