Starting with my X3i, I have taken the stance of anti-screen-protector. Up until my current PDA (X3i), I always used a screen protector. And keep in mind that I did not use cheapo protectors, I always used Brando or Boxwave. While both brands of screen protector were good, smooth, clear, etc.... they are still nothing compared to the appearance/feel of a protectorless screen.

Do I get scratches? Yes, but only very fine ones. With the PPC turned on, I can't see them at all. They are only visible when viewing them at an angle with the screen turned off.

I'm sure that after a couple years of use, that they might become more visible. But I don't keep a PDA for more than 1 or 2 years anyhow, before getting a newer model.

If you're looking to get YEARS of use out of your screen, it's probably best to get a protector. Otherwise, the minute scratches probably won't bother you unless you are very picky about your screen being perfect.
