It looks to me that the one on sale is NOT the 32x, even though the description of the product says so. I found the 32x on sale for $88 but apparently the rebate is NOT for the high speed one:

Yup....looks like you are right. If this is really true I could return it if I wanted but I'll probably still keep the card anyway. I have never had any problems playing videos or music from the 1X cards and I use a card reader to copy files to the SD card which goes relatively quickly.
Have to be very careful when buying from e-cost.com. It looks like they removed the 32x from the description of the Lexar SD1GB-231 card now and reduced it to $55 after mail in rebate.
