I went to the weekly view and on the day that I know I have a meeting scheduled, there is a dark blue block but if I try to click on it, it doesn't reveal anything, I just get a drop down menu for a "new appointment". I have tried soft resets to no avail.

That dark blue block is basically your cursor. When you open a new appointment, your cursor defaults to the earliest timeslot on the screen. By clicking on the blue block, you are telling your axim to "make a new appointment on this block of time that is highlighted."
Maybe scrolling down to the correct time of day will reveal your appointment? Other than that, I am at a loss.
