Well, microdrive is a lot cheaper, but it has the following disadvantages:

1. More noise, annoying clicks
2. More likely to be damaged if dropped
3. Drain more battery from the PPC
4. Generate more heat

The main one is #3. I heard that it can drain about 10-15% more than CF card. That is a lot of power, relatively speaking.
