Ok, I rip all of my DVD movies onto my computer using #1 DVD Ripper. This program rips them into a large .mpeg file on my hard drive. With this file, I usually open up Windows Media Encoder and make it a smaller, close to about 240MB file, to fit on my pocket pc's screen and play through Windows Media Player. As a side note, I am about to start doing this differently, I want to try out PocketDivxEncoder and BetaPlayer for the Pocket PC movies. But, what I want to do, is to take this large mpeg file and use Windows Media Encoder to make it somewhere closer to 600-650MB and then burn this to a CD-R or CD-RW and then be able to play it on my DVD player. I want to do this because sometimes I let people borrow DVDs and CDs and they tend to get scratched

. What type of program would I need to use to make it able to play the CD's movie on my DVD player? Is it called a VCD (Video CD)? Is that what i need to make for it to be able to play on my DVD player?
Just wondering, and interested in starting to do this to back up my DVDs.
Thanks
