I recently sold my 4700 and just recieved a x50v a few days ago. So far im glad I switched. The 4700 was decent but I just couldnt adjust to the touchpad, the lack of diagonals being the biggest issue. Also the video chip in the 4700 was the same old ATI chip that is getting a bit long in the tooth, even ATI has stated so and has a new processor with 3d capability coming soon. The screen on the 4700 was more vibrant but at the same time there was tint to it that made colors look kinda fake, I guess thats probably not the best description but it looked like there was perhaps too much yellow? GAPI performance on the 4700 was faster than the stock x50v but with no diagonal control it made gaming pointless anyway. The gapi problem seems to be solved for the most part with Picard's gapi tweak.
So far im happy with the switch, its plenty speedy, looks gorgeous and after selling my 4700 used, I still had enough cash left to pick up a case and an extra battery. The real concern for me is the future, and with other devices coming out with the 2700 chip or another opengl compatable 3d chip I figured it would be better to stay ahead of the curve.
