True, it's a 2 year old chip, but this is a chip where Picard has been optimizing it for a long time. The 2700g is a relative 2 month old, where picard had his x50v ( you do have one picard? ) for only a short time, so there is only some basic acceleration in place. I expect that it will be able to do 200% on the RL_XQ in the not so far feature.

The reason is, that video acceleration is most likely very similar with both chips. Both do idct, izz and mc in hardware and i would expect similar performance. The nice thing of the 2700g is, that is has more RAM (necessary for high res videos, also see the RL_XQ benchmark) and it has a nice video filter/scaler as post processor, wich the ATI3200 is lacking. I expect the ATI performance to drop once you need to scale the videos to fullscreen.
The main difference however is, that the 2700g is 3d/2d accelerator, while the ATI3200 is only a 2d accelerator.
That said, i dont think you will see significant performance enhancement, since video decoding (as far as i undestand picard) is already running more or less completely on the 2700g without the CPU touching data. Therefore software tweaks wont help that much.
