I came from the plam world and had experienced the same error with my toshiba e805 and assumed it was just another piece of broken software from the folks in Seattle - I sprung for the NEW x50 when it came out. All was well until I put voice command on ( in main memory - only other things that are there are Pocket Breeze, Memmaid and Journal Bar everyting else in in built in storage) - I do have a good sized My Docs folder. I was running about 7meg in storage and 22 in Programs - I uninstalled Voice Command.

Now the memory settings are 22 on programs all most 10 in storage - Let just say I have over 30 megs available - everything works fine. I have tried different allocations and anything on either side above 3.8 and both work together no problem (after that the ppc just splits the memory but still launches) - sounds like to me Dell didnt shell out for enough main memory and the wireless and Bluetooth stacks require aleast say 30 megs in main ram just to start(Hmmm? 10% of 30 is 3). What I find strange is after they are running I report they are only using about 3 meg? - Is there a checksum somewhere maybe in the registry that we could turn down allow both stacks to start with a lower memory requirement? I also have the registry hack in place - Just Some Thoughts? :approve:
Cheers, Mike
PS - Want to test the theroy free up 30 megs in main memory and does the problem go away?
