i use ultramote, with their extender. however, i will have to agree that the interface is pretty bad. however, they do allow you to import your own skins. I've made 4 pretty nice ones, for a TV, XBox, pioneer sound system, and VCR. If anyone would like them, just email me

The only other complaint I have is that there are no device profiles included, you have to program it completely yourself. It's pretty easy, but still, it would be nice if there were some already in there.
