I just tried a test of an Outlook appointment and it worked. I got a little box that popped on top of my browser window and a chime.

I think that there must be a problem with your installtion or settings. Are you selecting the "Reminder" check box checked? (I assume so since you said that you get a string of reminders, but start easy and work to the harder possiblities)

Another possiblity, set the appointment time to busy. That seemed to make a difference in test #2 for me.
