Big Smile My first experience...

This will be my first experience using a PDA. The decision to get one came when I got tired of having 100 paper notes all over my desk. I often get an idea and jot it down on paper. A PDA would allow me to take notes at a central place.

I did a LOT of research (a week) before deciding on the X50v. Other contestants were Loox 720 and iPaq hx4700. The Loox didn't impress me, and the hx4700 had an awkward touchpad, awkward sound output abilities, and a screen with exaggerated contrast and blue hue. The X50v had the best buttons and the most natural display.

When I had decided on the X50v I started gathering all kinds of resources for it, websites, software reviews, accessories, etc. That's how I came across this great site. It has already helped me understand a lot of things and it has kept me busy while still waiting for the X50v.

I intend to use it as a music notepad (Phoenix Studio, Griff Studio), an MP3 player, e-book reader, portable game emulator (NES/SNES), portable point-and-click adventure game system thanks to PocketScumm, working with Word and Excel documents (in Textmaker), a drawing board using Pocket Artist, and a design draft tool using Photogenics. I also intend to surf the net, use instant messaging and IRC, use it as a portable movie player, as a universal IR remote (Nevo), and last but not least, the reason for getting a PDA, I will use a portable brain mapping program to organize my ideas and Pocket Informant take notes/schedule events.

The X50v really fits my work as a musician and designer, allowing me to jot down ideas on the go. The sound quality of the portable studio programs is very good to boot.

I think I'll be having a pleasant stay at this site for many years to come! :approve:

Best Regards,
Christopher H.
