Tweaks2k2 can't solve everything. What it does in Brute Force VGA is to turn off the double pixeling that the basic operating system does to display QVGA on a VGA screen. That turned off action means that apps that don't measure the size of the screen (they are not VGA aware) shrink to 1/4 size. Calligrapher is one of those non-VGA aware apps, so it doesn't "see" the other 3/4 of the screen.
Bottom line: Tweaks2k2 will work for VGA-aware software, but can't fix software that blindly assumes only a QVGA screen. We'll have to wait for the various applications to be updated for that full functionality.
