You have to search the net and see if someone developed a program to allow you to do that. Your PVR will also have to be network capable.
I have a ReplayTV and use a program called DVArchive that allows me to transfer all my saved TV shows on my ReplayTV to my PC over a wired or wireless LAN and then convert them to any format I want.
