Okay, I've downloaded FairUse, but it doesn't seem to go with my work flow. It wanted to encode the movie from either a real disc or an ISO image. I prefer to rip the movies using DVDdecrypter then use DVDshrink to fit them on a DVD-5. I was using decrypter, setting it to not split the vob files, then using Windows Media Encoder to encode to WMV from the VOB file (using a codec from CleanerXL so that WME could take VOB files as input). Then I would use DVDshrink to burn it onto a DVD-5.
Using FairUse it looks like I will have to rip it once using Shrink for a disc, and then a second time for PPC. Is this what everyone else is doing?
I suppose I could rip an ISO using decrypter, use that ISO for FairUse, and then use DaemonTools to mount the ISO and re-encode using shrink. Maybe I will give that a try tomorrow. If someone who has done this a few times could post their work flow I would greatly appreciate it. I just want to get a good backup and a version for PPC in the shortest amount of time.
Thanks,
Dr. Gonzo
