This is the third person I've heard of this happening to, out of who knows how many X50 users on this site. Pretty safe gamble. Get a USB hub to plug the X50 into if you're worried (USB hub would most likely fry instead of your motherboard). I'm guessing there's just a handfull of bad cradles/X50s that are motherboard friers.
