Actually, I think it is reversed. The ignore_my_docs is supposed to signal to the application that no My Documents folder exists so it then HAS to inventory the entire area of storage for the file it seeks. If My Documents exists, it only looks in that folder, which is faster. I could be wrong, but I remember reading that somewhere. My own experience is that having a My Documents folder seems to make opening files faster.
