I've been testing a few Universal Remote applications on my X50V (I miss my Nevo from my HP 2215) and there seems to be some significant difference in range between the various products. PDAWin has been the shortest range of the ones I've tried so far at only about 8-10 feet. Remote Controller II seems to be the strongest easily handling the 15 or so feet across my living room, but this one was a bear to uninstall (thought I was going to have to do a hard reset to get rid of it). Total Remote from Griffin Technologies also has ample range for my needs, maybe not quite as stong as Remote Controller II. So far I don't like any of them as well as I did Nevo or even Clie Remote on my Sony Clie. Total Remote is the only one, so far that has a pretty good selection of device profiles already installed. The others pretty much expect you to create your own with the learning function or find Pronto device profiles for your equipment and install them (both a pain IMO). If I had to make a decision from these three, WinPDA is definitely a no go, due to the range issue. Total Remote would probably be my uninthusiastic choice.
