Hm... few more suggestions:

1. Disable firewalls (just in case).
2. Double check your printer name and location.
3. Reboot and soft reset Axim.

Also do a search for "HP mobile printing" or something similar. Many people have used this app before with success, even on the X50. Sorry I cannot think of anything else.
