OK,

It's my turn to add a few comments. Yes, the problem is that Dell did a good job in optimizing their batteries this time. Mugen Power could not get a higher capacity out of these physical sizes. So the best that they could do was to create the same capacities.

Does that mean we've "heard the fat lady sing"? (Apologies to anyone overweight!) No. It's not over.

If you remember Star Trek, it was almost cancelled and after a nice letterwriting campaign, it was revived and look at the franchise now! So, the work is up to us, the users.

As somone mentioned above, I too think the X50 will replace the X5/X3. So we have to make it worthwhile.

Mugen was able to create a monster battery, of their own design, for the H4700 Ipaq and the Toshiba E8XX series batteries. So, can they make one for the X50. In the thread in the Lion Battery forum, Manfred, from Mugen Power, leaves us to believe that it may be possible. I suggest that we all send him a PM telling him that we want a bigger battery! If he gets enough demand, he might be able to convince his bosses to get back to work.

Let's get this letter-writing campaign off to a good start and start sending manfred a few PM's.

I still don't think its over (but maybe I'm being too optimisitic!).
