It appears that is because I used WME 9 to encode/convert and the audio codec is now WMA 9, but the Axim only has WMP 8.5 because it has Pocket PC 2002 Premium. If this is truly the problem, what are my options? Can I change the audio codec WME 9 uses or do I have to go to WME 7.1?
Or if someone has a different idea, please let me know.

I had this problem too mate....just change the settings for audio to custom and select a mono one instead of stereo..i use 20kbps/22khz/mono and it plays audio fine now but you can use any as long as its mono.
