The Boxwave was also my biggest nightmare....lots of lint or hair when installed...it looks to me like the the lint was there when I received them but my patience ran out and just threw them somewhere in a box....got the HP screen protector for the HP 4700 and cut them to size and bingo....no bubbles and nice clear display.

wash them and apply scotch tape to the sticky side overlapping each piece. clean the screen and go into the bathroom after a nice steamy shower. wipe off the screen once more and gently blow off any leftover lint. then start removing the layered tape as you put it on the screen. you should now have a great protector with no lint or hair and nice and clear. these things attract hair and lint like a magnet. if you took off the backing and moved it through the air in a normal dry atmosphere it will suck up so much junk you will think it came that way.
