I've done some searching, and while I've seen it talked about, I have never seen a solution. Windows Media Player will not recognize any other skins besides the default. Do you have an x50v? I've found that it won't load qvga skins no matter where they are, and i haven't found any vga skins anywhere yet. If you look at the \windows\portrait192.skn you'll see:

So it seems to read that before loading it.
I had some luck by taking a qvga skin, resizing the images, then doubling all of the coordinates in the skin file, but it was tedious and I gave up.
