To shed some light on this obscure topic:
Your phone might have more than one WAP setting. Check your "wap options" on your cell phone and figure out which one is the right one for you. Once you found the right one, note the CID number of this WAP setting. If this number is "1", as it is for most cell phones, then use
Number to dial: *99#
Modem String: +CGDCONT=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR"
if this number is 5, then use
Number to dial: *99**5#
Modem String: +CGDCONT=5,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR"
if this number is 8, then ... you got the point ...
The modem string
+CGDCONT=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR",0,0
as suggested by some postings did not work for me.
