Crazy as it sounds, there are some people who actually expect a product to have all the kinks worked out when they buy it. Having to download hacks/programs for it makes them feel like they wasted hundreds of dollars on something that wasn't ready to be released. I would imagine if someone was using it for business/personal purposes and not as a "toy" or an object to invoke "envy", this would piss them off even more.
I can totally understand where the original poster is coming from.
