Q about overwriting odysee client in /Windows folder...

from another thread:

Quote:
Tip-2: The Odyssee Client occupies about 2MB of RAM. Unless you need it, just unzip the attached file and copy/replace the one in \Program Files. Actually you can also replace the odClientCE.exe in the \Windows folder as well, as reported here: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=70561 You'd save 4MB of your RAM...
I had already replaced the one in Program files without a problem and understand how to do it, etc..

I tried to replace the one in my /Windows folder, but I got a message saying that I was trying to replace a file that is in ROM and that it may cause problems etc... I don't 100% understand the situation. Can you even overwrite a file in ROM? If so, will the saved space be usable and added to my usable/allocatable memory?

Or is this something that is a little different from rom A01 vs rom A02? I am now using A02. What I mean here is, is this something that would work properly on A01, but is not necessary, not applicable, or will not work on A02?

Thanks for any info!
