afaik when l tried this on my old Pocket PC 2002 PDA I had to use a different file manager other than the built in file manager to copy over a rom exe file (not cut)
It doesn't actually overwrite it but I believe puts a pointer in to tell the OS to use the copied file and not The original.
When I deleted the copied File and refreshed the directory the old rom file came back. on the old Version I had to perform a Soft reset to get the right icon back For the program even if it worked.
Having Said that it is Still possible to render the PDA unusable by replacing key files unless a hard reset is perforned (a hard reset removes all files not in Rom and backup/SD/CF Storage)
the odclient is the odysee Client So judging by others it will not Cause any problems with the OS
As with anything backup to be extra safe!
