Streaming video files from wi-fi home network

Hoping soon to be buying a Axim x50v and a few questions someone might be able to help me with.

I record tv directly onto my main pc using showshifter software which is set to record divx and uses about 500mb per hour at present settings.. I also have virtual dub for editing adverts out etc which can then re-save at any divx setting or other format so could reduce file sizes down for viewing on Axim..

but one of my uses I expect will be to be able to play video around the house away from my office area, so will it work ok to stream from the main pc via the wi-fi network? I am expecting that this will be alright as I can do that with my laptop ok.. just go to the video directory and launch any of my stored films on main pc and play in laptop.. at 11 Mbps that always works fine.. so basically that would mean that my whole libary of recorded films and tv will be available to the axim while at home and if away can just put a few reduced size media files on a memory card?

Sorry if that question is a bit basic but just trying to figure a few of these things out..
