I think you are in denial as far as the geek thing goes.

I use my X50 at school to view powerpoint slides and web pages that are part of my assignments. It works well with my Dell BT keyboard to take notes, although I haven't found a really great application for that yet. I have wireless travel router that I plug into the schools net. My classes are 3 hours long, and battery life does not seem to be an issue. Its also nice to have for those particularly boring lectures.
