I just got my Axim at the beginning of the year and I love it. I'm a first-year Computer Engineering student at the Rochester Institue of Technology (New York) and I started off the year with nothing PDA. Since I had gotten a Palm m130 way back when (it's worth $40 now), I decided to break it out, but boy was that thing slow and old. Anyway, I was all set to buy an X30 when I lost my m130! I was so pissed at myself that I couldn't bare to spend the money on something more expensive. With a little time I got over it and finally set myself on buying the X50v and haven't looked back. On a typical day, I use it to check e-mail, very minor web surfing (nice wireless blanket here), schedule appointments, right down homework, take random notes (usually not school related), calculate things (graphing calc), and the occasional game. Not to mention playing MP3s! That was one of the main reasons to get this. I was seriously considering an iPod or iRiver, but I just don't listen to that much music to make something so narrow focused as an MP3 player worth it. I really like GSPlayer for it's simplicity and on mine it doesn't seem to bother the wireless and bluetooth like Pocket Player and PocketMusic did (wireless and bluetooth would mess up if I enabled while either player was playing). I also really like GSPlayer's startup time which is less than half of the other two. Anyway, I haven't customized too much yet beyond basic skinning and SPB Pocket Plus (great addon in my opinion), but I might give Pocket Informant and PocketBreeze a try if I get brave. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my Axim. Even so, I'm not ready to ditch either of my other computers for it (desktop and laptop) because there are some things that you just need the full-power/big screen beasts for...occasionally ;-)
