I believe APN is access point number or name.
On your k700i if you go through - menu, connectivity, dat comm., data accounts then highlight the internet one and chose 'more' then account info, it should say the APN number (k700i calls it 'External ID' - this is the number you use : ie APN 4 = dialling *99***4#
