There's no way of telling...
You know, when numbers of people were having the weird difficulties with the original iPaq 36xx devices, I never had a problem. I didn't have problems with the original ActiveSync, either, and I was running a Win98se machine at the time. Then I moved to Win2k. Still no problems. Upgraded my iPaq all the way through PPC2k2, and AS up to 3.7. Still, no problems. Finally had to get an X5 Advanced because I wanted WM2k3 and, of course, iPaq wasn't doing an upgrade. Never a problem with the Ax, AS 3.7 or Win2k. Upgraded to WinXP Pro. Still no issues. Now I have AS 3.8, still have my X5, and WinXP Pro, SP2 (plus various and sundry patches). Not so much as a hiccup. Either I'm just really blessed (well, actually I AM) or some people A) got lemons, B)have bad workstation components, C) horrible fortune, or D) aren't following directions properly.
I just don't get it.
P.S., My wife started out with a Visor Deluxe on Win98se and now has her X5 Advanced on WinXP Pro SP2 and no problems with her, either. She has an E-machines workstation, and I built my computer with primo components.
