Its a problem with most USB cable chargers.
Any USB port is simply weak in charging the Axim. I can not see how another cable (as stated (Boxwave) will get more voltage/amperage than what the USB specifications allow. It just ain't gonna happen. A 4ft cable is not going to drop any significant voltage that a Boxwave cable will not drop voltage, unless is some kind of superconductor.
I even read in Aximsite that Boxwave was having some propblem with sync cables failing but i think they sid at a rate of 2 to every hundred or so. No bad odds unless the cable is not defective and is a design defect. I am not sure what the result was.
