Thanks so much for the involved explanation.

So, in essence, if I want to charge the palm, I have enough juice, but not to use it too. Though when I said "heads" I actually meant that there are socket heads which attach via the USB part of the cable to the car or the wall socket and then the other side of the cable (the connector to the handheld).

Anyway, it just means that I have to look for these heads which puts up at least 1A output at 5v plus minus. Now it is convincing the people on the web to supply that info!!! :)

Out of curiosity, does this problem with drain and battery demand have anything to do with the problem that others have experienced with the USB port destruction with the cradels?

Thanks again for the complete discussion for I am an MD and not an EE and don't understand it at all!!! :)
