Any optimal WM Encoder settings for converting VCD files (avseq0x.dat) to WMV for x50v playback?

Here's what I've tried so far:

Audio Codec- CBR Windows Media Audio 9.1
Video Codec- CBR Windows Media Video 9
Audio Format- 20kbps, 32kHz, mono
Video Size- 320x240
Frame Rate- 20fps
Video Bit Rate- 250K
Buffer Size- 5 sec
Encoder Mode- 2-Pass

A 700Mb file gets down to 140Mb...

When I play on the x50v WM player, the portrait version is excellent. But kinda small screen. When I go to full screen (in landscape), it's ok but not as sharp obviously. Can any of my settings be improved? Or any of them overkill?

Or should I use another encoder for this for better look/performance?
