I really don't think this poll will help address the problem unless folks provide details of their USB setup as well. You should be stating if you're using USB 1.0/1.1 or 2.0, what USB chipset, onboard or PCI-based ports, what are the USB settings in BIOS, any other devices powered up and on USB at the time, etc. That will help address if it's a USB incompatability problem rather than a bad batch of cradles.
