could you elaborate on your comment below. This might work for me. Which files are you refering to and specifically what did you do?

5) 4:00 AM...really angry...copied my backup files to the "Built-in Storage" directory on my Axim...did a restore...ABLE TO SYNC now...so far, "knock on wood" I am still able to connect and sync.
scmidlap,

When I made my backup files (two of them "all data" and the "PIM files"), I backed them up to my SD Card originally...since i could not get active sync to work when restoring from my SD Card or from active sync, i thought that, maybe, something was not restoring properly from the SD card. So I copied both back up files from my SD card to the Built-in Storage folder on the Axim...then I used the restore program to restore the files from the Built-in Storage folder.

That's just something that worked for me. I knew it was not a hardware problem with my PC, cradle or USB port because when I did a hard reset and erased everything from memory, I was able to sync with a "clean" Axim. When I restored my backup files from my SD card...I was unable to sync or connect to active sync.

My assumption is or may be wrong with why I had troubles with active syn...it just worked for me when I did the above.
