There is really not much comparison between the two. The Palm has 16 meg of ram vs the 64 meg in the Axim. The Palm processor is also slower. The Axim includes both an SD card slot and a compact flash slot. No compact flash on the Palm.

The pixel size of the screen on the Palm also includes some non-display area where the user input area is at - so you really don't have as big a display on it.

But the biggest difference is the operating system. The Palm uses its own OS (version 4.1 on the 515). The Axim uses Microsoft's PocketPC 2002, which includes the most popular word processor and spreadsheet apps - Word and Excel.

Both units retail for the same amount - $349 plus a $50 rebate.

The versatility, speed, memory, expansion capabilty, popularity of the OS, and accessories and software available make the Axim a clear choice in my opinion.
