This sounds like a PPP connection problem between your AX and PC. Is your PC on a network, if so is everything working okay. If not, are you using a USB or serial cradle or cable. Do you have other devices that use USB or serial that are working.

As a last resort, uninstall ActiveSync and reinstall it. Use ActiveSync 3.6. It seems to be pretty stable. 3.5 is the same as 3.6, they just added the SmartPhone to 3.6.
