All three of the computers I tried are USB 1.1. I had hoped that this wasn't the issue but I'm afraid you may be right. I guess I could buy a USB 2.0 card and install it but other than needing it for this, I really don't have any other device that needs USB 2.0. Maybe I can use my brother computer for a few minutes and try the upgrade on it.

Since you brought this up I guess I should ask if there is anyone out there who has not been able to upgrade who DID have a USB 2.0 port. I noticed that the latest ROM file I downloaded mentions Windows XP and I think Windows 2000 but it may not even work with Windows 98SE. I fairly sure that 98 was not on the list. I don't remember anything about a requirement for USB 2.0. It only seems to be using ActiveSync at the beginning of the upgrade process. Once it starts to update the file I noticed that the ActiveSync icon turns gray and then closes. Maybe it has something to do with it communicating directly with the Axim instead of through ActiveSync.

Maybe USB 1.1 is the problem. If not, we can continue to eliminate the possibilities until we find the problem. I noticed that the site Dell directed me to was called TinyURL.com. I wonder who's site this is?

Thanks
