You'll find Data Back up under Programs. It allows you to back up "all data" or "PIM databases only." And you can back up to Built-in Storage or to an SD card, nieter of which would be affected by a hard reset. You can also, of course, move the back up file to your PC.

I haven't bothered with it yet. I did a back up just before upgrading the ROM on my X30, but as many may recall, restoring caused problems with Windows Media Player which required another hard reset to fix.

My feeling has been that restoring after a hard reset restores whatever problem caused you to have to reset in the first place. On the other hand, i had to hard reset a week ago and still haven't gotten my Ax back the way I like it, so I'm rethinking my philosophy.

You cannot, apparently, selectively restore--it's all or nothing.
