This has happened to me several times and again today. Try the following:

1. Disconnect Axim from PC and delete partnership. (File - Delete Partnership). Soft reset Axim then try to re-establish partnership.

2. Reinstall ActiveSync.

3. Hard reset Axim, delete former partnership, and establish new one.

Moved to ActiveSync forums.
