As for the original question, I have a x50 mid and the picture quality is great! No problems at all. My movies are usually around 380 mb.

lol, I likely do. People seem to have the impression that the lower / older models are somehow hundreds cheaper. I see that all the time. The truth is, unless you're in a really really tight budget. the x50v really is a better buy for most people - especially given that the same people asking also want to play games and movies.
