The reason their desktop OS's are such disc space gobbling monsters is that they've been "feature enhanced" over the years, so that the OS now has features that I personally think shouldn't be part of the OS. I think an OS should be lean and mean (and hopefully therefore more stable), especially on the PPC platform where currently, at least, space is at a premium.
